ABOUT BLOGMINSTER
Blogminster seeks to bring you a live view of the workings of Parliament through the live commentary of insiders as well as departmental, parliamentary and government news. In addition, it gathers local news items that often languish on MPs’ individual websites and highlights them as they happen, to provide a richer picture of the daily work of MPs.

Our process is completely automated, and this is reflected in some duplication and typos that appear in the content – as we serve it raw, without any sauce or pepper.

We also reviewed in detail the web presence of all members of Parliament (this process was completed for the previous parliament, and we are now working through the new 2010 intake). Wherever we found a blog or a topical story feed, we included it here.

We currently include content from around 250 sources. This makes Blogminster one of the most comprehensive sources of Westminster news, and we hope you find it useful and informative.

DO YOU HAVE A PARTY AFFILIATION?
Blogminster is completely independent and is not affiliated to any party or political body.

WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO COPYRIGHT OF THE CONTENT YOU GET FROM OTHER SOURCES?
We are very careful to ensure fair use of the content we display. To that end we would never include more than a short excerpt of a source article, and then a link back to the original (which would generate traffic to the source site). We also always ensure we credit the entry’s source in a clear, unambiguous, way.

Crown copyright material is distributed under the waiver of copyright that applies to the reproduction of official press notices and releases.

For parliamentary material, Blogminster Limited is holder of parliamentary licence number P2010000054 and PSI license number C2010000312.

If you have any concerns or misgivings about the inclusion of your content on Blogminster, please contact us right away. We are proud of our integrity and our prompt response to any issues.

DO YOU INCLUDE ALL MPS IN BLOGMINSTER?
We include any MP who has a live blog/Twitter account that has been updated in recent times, or has a topical news feed that can be used for the news section. If you are an MP whose blog or news site is not included here, please contact us, and we will be happy to add you to Blogminster.

DO YOU INCLUDE RETIRED MPS OR PPCS? Blogging MPs retiring from parliament will continue to be covered here, but their designation will change to “ret“. Note that retired MPs who were not previously covered will not be added, and for those existing we will only keep those who blog about topical political issues. We do not include Party Parliamentary Candidates (PPCs) in Blogminster as they are not in government and not elected.

WHY DOES MY BLOG APPEAR IN THE NEWS SECTION AND NOT THE MAIN BLOGGING SECTION?
In cases where blogs are used for stories (mostly in the third person) or for press releases, we file them under “Statements/News”. Where a blog includes more personal commentary, then it is filed under blogs.
