Celebrating Shepshed High School Link

Andy Reed MP and International Development Minister Mike Foster MP were at Shepshed High School this week. They visited the school to help launch the OneGoal initiative and to celebrate the success of the links the school has with Ethiopia. The 1 Goal campaign is to give every child the right to education. There are still 72 million children in the world who get no education each year. The campaign uses the power of football and the world cup in South Africa to promote this right. Andy Reed said "I am delighted Mike took time to visit Shepshed to see the success of this government backed scheme. I have visited the school several times when the Ethiopian teachers have been here. To listen to the children in class about the things they have learned was the best bit. Just hearing phrases like 'you realise how lucky we are and you realise these are just people with families like you and me' shows...
