If you were watching Newsnight yesterday, you may have seen a piece about Gil Scott-Heron, the poet/musician/Godfather of rap. I was so glad that it was on, because it gives me a nice excuse to link up a video of this, one of the coolest, funniest and greatest songs ever written:Come on, it makes 'Theme From Shaft' by Isaac Hayes sound like a nursery rhyme. EDIT: Sorry, I know the video is rubbish, but all the decent videos on Youtube have a different version of the song that's not very good....
